Monica Bottari
MSOT, OTR/L
Monica Bottari, MSOT, OTR/L is an Occupational Therapist at East End Occupational Therapy. Monica received her Master of Sciences in Occupational Therapy from Hofstra University in 2020. Monica first became interested in OT during college when she was a Personal Care Assistant for a young girl who was born with physical disabilities. Through her own caretaking and observation of PTs, OTs, and SLPs, Monica became highly passionate for the career of occupational therapy, as it has always been her drive to help people. While taking several anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, and upper extremity courses, Monica has further developed a love for hand therapy. It was her fieldwork at East End OT and the invaluable mentorship and guidance from Anthony Marullo that solidified her decision to pursue a specialization in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Monica has become skilled in manual therapy, treatment of the shoulder to fingertip, and custom orthosis fabrication across the lifespan from her experience here at East End OT. There is nothing like the feeling of her patients regaining their function and independence in daily activities from her intervention strategies! Monica is eager to continue her education in this field and is working towards becoming a Certified Hand Therapist in the years to come.
In addition to being an OT, Monica is a competitive dance instructor for ages 2-18. She has been a competitive dancer herself since 2 years old. Her hobbies include reading, going to the gym, and going for walks. Monica is currently taking daily Spanish lessons in order to become bilingual to improve her communication with her patients.
